Executive Director

La Union del Pueblo Entero, LUPE is seeking an Executive Director to join a skilled and innovative team within a rapidly growing, digital-driven organization at the forefront of immigration in the borderlands. The Executive Director is responsible for fulfilling and communicating the mission and strategic vision of the organization to staff, individuals, the media and representatives from government agencies and foundations. The Director is responsible for the successful operation, financial management, budgeting, staff supervision, planning, program, and resource development of the organization.

La Union del Pueblo Entero, LUPE, is a social justice, community-building, membership organization, founded by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta.

All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and able to start on November 29, 2021. LUPE has a COVID-19 Vaccine Policy, requiring all part-time and full-time employees to get vaccinated. 

This position offers the following benefits:

BENEFITS (After 3 months of full-time employment)

$9,000+ in healthcare insurance (medical & dental) paying for the employee, spouse, and children under 26 years old (eligible after 3 months of employment)
$8,000.00 death insurance

Legal Assistant

La Union del Pueblo Entero, LUPE seeks an experienced full-time Legal Assistant to join a skilled and innovative team within a rapidly growing, digital-driven organization at the forefront of immigration in the borderlands. The Legal Assistant will provide legal support to our attorney by researching case law, developing case information, gathering evidence, and researching various types of relief for the client; tracking cases internally and in the court; and supporting the attorney in removal defense cases. This position requires a highly organized person who can multi-task, prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a fast-paced, friendly working environment. The ideal candidates must be Bilingual in English and Spanish and must have over two years of immigration experience in family-based immigration and deportation defense.

Community Organizer – San Benito

La Union del Pueblo Entero, LUPE seeks an experienced full-time Community Organizer to lead our organizing in Cameron County. The Community Organizer upholds LUPE’s core values of respect, self-help and hope through grassroots organizing, education and mobilized participation.

The Community Organizer will support LUPE’s building of community leadership, capacity and power through education initiatives. The Community Organizer educates youth and families on the benefits of belonging to a community organization through community education sessions; “self-help” trainings on how to search for and utilize community resources necessary to improve on their quality of life; “juntas caseras” to educate and generate interest one-on-one visits. 

The ideal candidates must be Bilingual in English and Spanish and must have over two years of college in addition to a minimum of two (2) years of significant and progressively responsible experience organizing.

This position offers the following benefits:
