Celebrating Mothers Day with Asylum seekers

Asylum seeking mothers often leave everything behind in search for a better life for themselves and their families so we decided to do a little something special for them This Mother's Day. LUPE members created special care packages for immigrant mothers by collecting and creating earrings to combine with beauty products to help moms feel a warm welcome after spending days or even weeks in cramped, cold, and squalid cells of US border immigration jails, new immigrants get their first taste of freedom when they are released to shelters and bus stations in border towns. LUPE and other border organizations offer a warm welcome and helping had as they ready themselves to continue their journey as newcomers to this country.

This inspired us to continue welcoming asylum seekers by celebrating Father's day by collecting donations and turning them into care packages.
