We are a resilient community! We are showing it by registering to vote during the worst public health crisis in a generation!

Become a voter with LUPE today! LUPE is organizing colonia residents, new Citizens, and other high-potential voters to shift power this November.

Texas leaders are leaving South Texans to die of Covid-19 just as we enter one of the most important elections in history. Decades of divesting from schools, services, and care have given way to the worst public health crisis in a generation. Only 4% of Hidalgo County’s general fund is dedicated to health services and care. We have no public hospital. Meanwhile, almost two-thirds of Hidalgo County’s general fund is dedicated to police, jails and courts.

The negligence of Texas leaders means that in the middle of a pandemic, Hidalgo County’s biggest public health agency is its sheriff’s department.

We are saying enough is enough! We can win a new approach to governance, one that puts power back in the hands of the people. We can win the power to decide how we live and thrive. ¡Sí Se Puede!

But our victory will depend on our ability to contact high-potential voters. Colonia residents, new Citizens, new voters, and other high-potential voters have a huge amount of influence. When they decide to vote, they change the course of elections and determine outcomes.

We need your help contacting high-potential voters in South Texas. Sign up to volunteer here: lupenet.org/gotv

We vote for us. By showing up and voting, we win protections for DACA, defend our community from border walls, and open new paths for investing in healthcare for all, streetlights and flooding protections, fair and just immigration processes, and dignified wages.
