It's been an election like no other. And the weeks ahead will be like nothing we've faced before.
We are wrapping up a massive effort to mobilize Rio Grande Valley voters. We've had a whole lot of fun during this campaign. It's really been an exciting effort to see our team make calls to tens of thousands of South Texas voters who otherwise might sit out such an important election.
Our message: In order to thrive, we need the power to decide. Enough with politicians who say, “No se puede” to the services and care we need to live healthy, thriving lives.
To drive that point home on Election Day, we showed our will to thrive by bringing taco trucks and mariachis to the polls to entertain our neighbors while they exercise their right to vote.
It is very likely that we will not have complete election results tonight, and that's OK. Over the past 7 weeks, we put so much into building the voice and power of our Rio Grande Valley community. And millions of voters nationwide voted by mail. It takes time to count every vote. It's OK if we have to wait in order to see the full fruit of our labor.
What's important now is that we commit ourselves to protect the results of this election. That we ensure that every vote is counted and that the president that we elect is sworn in come January.
Already, our principle of one person, one vote is under attack by misinformation and politicians who are weaponizing it. Any attempt to stop votes from being counted past Election Day is an attack on the people’s ability to decide how we live and thrive.
La lucha sigue. But tonight we enjoy the power we've built and ground we've covered together. Enjoy some of the most exhilarating movements of our campaign in the highlights below.
