Frontera Texas Organizing Project Know Your Rights Session an Vigil In San Juan

Join us for a crucial Know Your Rights session organized by Frontera Texas, an initiative of the Border Network for Human Rights (BNHR), dedicated to protecting and advocating for immigrant communities along the Texas border.

Frontera Texas brings together grassroots organizations spanning the Texas border, including LUPE, ARISE Adelante, Border Workers United, and ACLU of Texas. Together, we're committed to empowering our communities and defending immigrant rights.

During this session, representatives from LUPE, ARISE Adelante, Border Workers United, and ACLU of Texas will provide valuable information on our rights, particularly in light of recent anti-immigration legislation passed by the Texas legislature. Join us every Wednesday throughout the month of February at the LUPE Alton office located at 416 S Alton Blvd, Suite A, Alton, TX 78573. Our dedicated Community Outreach Specialist, Kayla Montano, will be hosting informative meetings focusing on Medicaid information.

In these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of Medicaid, including eligibility criteria, application processes, available services, and more. Whether you're seeking to understand your own eligibility or assisting a loved one in navigating the Medicaid system, these meetings are designed to provide you with valuable insights and resources.

The meetings will run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, allowing ample time for thorough discussions, questions, and personalized assistance. We understand the importance of having access to reliable information about healthcare options, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

Join us for a captivating bilingual exhibition curated by La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE) in collaboration with the Center for Mexican American Studies at UTRGV. “El Movimiento Continúa” invites you to explore the rich history, vibrant culture, and enduring legacy of the farm worker movement in South Texas through eight prominent themes.

As part of LUPE’s 20th anniversary series, this traveling exhibition has journeyed through various venues, including the City of Alamo Museum, The Weslaco Museum, and the Kelsey Bass Museum And Event Center. Now, we're thrilled to announce our next stop: The South Texas College – Pecan Campus.

Visit us at the South Texas College – Pecan Campus from January 16th to February 28th, located at 3201 Pecan Blvd Bldg F, McAllen, TX 78501. Immerse yourself in the compelling narratives and impactful visuals that shed light on the struggles and triumphs of farm workers in our region.
