Happening May 1st, 5pm at Archer Park in McAllen. RSVP for the rally here.
We are laborers, students, teachers, caretakers. We build houses and take care of children. We grow, pick, ship and prepare food. We feed the hungry and cure the sick. We work and study hard for a better future. We are ALL workers, we all have dignity, and we all deserve respect.
Yet every day, we face stolen wages, increased workloads, decreased benefits and opportunities for advancement, low wages, disrespect, harassment, budget cuts, and job insecurity. Managers and administrators tell us just do your job; politicians say there’s nothing we can do.
We say we can organize.
By organizing we recover stolen wages, fight budget cuts, defend our dignity, and bring democracy to our jobs and schools. Join LUPE at this year’s International Workers’ Day and listen to voices of workers who are organizing for respect, hear stories of victories and dignity on the job, and find out what work needs to be done and how you can learn to organize.
Let us know that you’re coming by RSVPing here.
