Al Colegio Si Se Puede is a college readiness program that facilitates the college application process for undocumented high school seniors. The mission of Al Colegio Si Se Puede is to support undocumented students in the pursuit of their educational aspirations by making the process of accessing higher education more equitable. The program has one main component: informational sessions.

Informational Sessions

Informational sessions are the regular meetings for the delivery of the curriculum. These sessions are open to undocumented/DACAmented high school seniors enrolled in a high school in the Rio Grande Valley. 

When: Sessions are twice a month on Fridays from 6:00pm to 8:pm. 

Where: The in-person sessions take place in our LUPE San Juan office & Alton office

What will be covered: The sessions will cover the two most important topics that undocumented students need to be informed about in regards to the college application process. 

• College Applications: In this session, we will give an overview of the higher education opportunities for undocumented students in Texas, explain in-state tuition, and help navigate the college application process.  

Financial Aid: In our financial aid session, we will provide information on the financial aid resources available to undocumented students with the main focus being the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA).

Requirements

• Be at least one of the following: Undocumented or 'DACAmented'
• Be a high school senior for the 2023-2024 school year
• Be a student at a high school in the Rio Grande Valley
