In regards to the Election Results, Juanita Valdez-Cox, Executive director of La Union del Pueblo Entero, said the following:

It is now time to turn the page on the politics of hate and division that have harmed, separated, and tortured families in the Rio Grande Valley over the past four years.

This is a historic moment for women and people of color to see the election of the first woman of color as Vice-President of the United States of America.

We need immediate action to control the coronavirus’s spread, reunite families, and end undocumented immigrants’ persecution.

President-elect Biden has promised to rebuild an America that allows working families to thrive. Now the hard work starts of coming together as a community and as a country to hold him to that promise.

LUPE’s work continues to assure our immigrant and low-income families are protected from the hate that has hunted them for the past four years. While the nation has spoken to rebuild our democracy, it is up to grassroots organizations like LUPE to ensure the work gets done.

La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE) is a community organization based in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. More posts
