This week, we are asking Congress to pass a path to citizenship as 200 immigrant youth and allies in Washington, D.C. take over Capitol Hill December 12th throughout the 15th.
With over ten years of fighting for the pathway of citizenship, we can not let this moment get past us. We are uniting with immigrant youth and allies to demand that Congress pass a pathway to Citizenship this year. Our LUPE members in D.C. will be lobbying with 200 immigrant youth from United We Dream. Passing a pathway to Citizenship will have a positive impact for millions of people across the county– young and old, citizen and immigrant, white, black and brown.
Carla Ocadiz, LUPE Education Equity Specialist and current DACA recipient, said, “DACA has given us so much, but it is not enough. We need and deserve permanent protection for the entire undocumented community. That is our goal.”
To arrange a virtual interview with Carla Ocadiz, Education Equity Specialist, and Karina Hernandez, Data Entry Clerk, contact Ramiro Gonzalez, LUPE communications coordinator, at (956) 360-4277 or ramirog@lupenet.org. Interviews available in English and Spanish.
