Release: After More Than 30 Years Colonia Diamond L Gets Newly Paved Streets; Now Launching A New Street Light Petition for a Brighter Tomorrow

LUPE members in Colonia Diamond L celebrate their newly paved streets after 38 years. Having resolved this long standing issue, they now aim to dispel 40 years of darkness. 

What:Colonia Diamond L is celebrating the completion of their newly paved streets after years of calls from residents to elected officials. Guided by LUPE organizer Elizabeth Marquez, the residents successfully achieved this accomplishment. Now, Colonia Diamond L residents and LUPE members are ready to work together for a brighter tomorrow by gathering signatures through a county petition for the installment of street lights. 

When: Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 starting at 5:00 PM CDT to 7:00 PM CDT 

Where: 1013 Alejandra st Mission Tx 78573

Who: La Unión Del Pueblo Entero Members, Colonia Diamond L residents, and Commissioner Ever Villareal from Precinct 3

Visuals: La Unión Del Pueblo Entero will be in attendance at the celebration as residents gather and celebrate with one another. Chants and speeches will be given throughout the event.
