Release: Marchando Con La Fuerza De La Unión: 21st Annual Cesar Chavez March

On March 23rd, 2024, LUPE Members will march to show the strength of our union and send a message to the community that our movement is strong and ready to keep organizing for working families.

What:  La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE), along with its members, various organizations, and Texans from diverse backgrounds will begin the day “marchando con la fuerza de la unión” covering approximately 2.3 miles on a new route. The march will commence from the historic LUPE Headquarters in San Juan, proceeding east along US Business Highway 83 up to 8th Street in Alamo. LUPE invites the public to march alongside organizers, leaders, members, and individuals who have tirelessly marched in solidarity, advocating for the rights, voices, and needs of our communities. ¡Todo con la fuerza de la unión!

When: Saturday, March 23th, 2024 starting at 9AM CDT and ending at 1PM  CDT

Where: The starting/meeting point is 1601 US-83 BUS, San Juan, TX 78589 (LUPE office). From there, participants will march east along U.S. Business 83 up to 8th Street in Alamo. Upon reaching the gazebo on 8th Street, participants will turn around and march back to the historic LUPE Headquarters.

Who: La Unión Del Pueblo Entero members along with various organizations and Texans from diverse backgrounds. 

Visuals: Participants will be in community with one another at the historic LUPE Headquarters. Speeches will precede the march to motivate participants and acknowledge the purpose of the event. Community art, posters, and signs will be visible as a crowd of hundreds of people will march 2.3 miles con la “fuerza de unión,” shoulder to shoulder with friends, family, neighbors, supporters, and those taking it step by step con la unión.
