Release: LUPE ALTON OFFICE WILL HOST CELEBRACION DEL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

On November 2nd, LUPE members and Rio Grande Valley residents gather together to celebrate our roots as we learn about our history through community organizing. 

What: La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE) and community members will meet at the LUPE Alton Office to celebrate Día de Los Muertos by participating and engaging with one another throughout the event.  

When: Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 from 10 AM CDT – 12 PM CDT

Where: LUPE Office, 416 S Alton Blvd suite a, Alton, TX 78573

Who: La Unión Del Pueblo Entero, LUPE members, residents of the Rio Grande Valley, and consulates from Mexico, Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras

Visuals: A community gathering of not only LUPE members as this event is open to the public of the Rio Grande Valley. Present at the event will be a community altar where participants will be able to place a photo surrounded by decorations created by community members. Participants will share food talk to the consulates, along with the curation of activities such as a contest and a performative dance by matachines.
