Release: RSVP: THE LEGACY OF JUANITA VALDEZ-COX

On March 3rd, 2023, LUPE staff, members, and elected officials will gather at the Mission Event Center to celebrate Juanita Valdez-Cox’s leadership in the social justice movement for more than 45 years. 

What: La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE), members, and elected officials will be at Mission Event Center to celebrate the legacy of Juanita Valdez-Cox, LUPE’s former executive director and South Texas civil rights leader.

When: Friday, March 3rd, 2023. Juanita will be available for interviews 6:45 pm – 7 pm. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. The program will begin at 7 PM and end at 10 PM.

Where: Mission Event Center, 200 N SHARY Rd, Mission, TX 78572

Who: La Unión Del Pueblo Entero staff and members, elected officials, and Juanita Valdez-Cox. Actress and comedian Cristela Alonzo will MC the event. 

Visuals: Participants will engage with one another as they celebrate Juanita’s leadership in the social justice movement for more than 45 years. We anticipate 600 guests will join us. The program will include presentations by LUPE board members, elected officials, and other special guests.
