Release: We Will Resist: LUPE Mobilizes With Over 40 Organizations In Austin Demanding The Repeal Of SB 4 and Operation Lone Star

On March 9th, 2024, LUPE will be joining over 40 organizations mobilizing in Austin in an act of resistance and unity against hateful and racist measures implemented in the state of Texas

What: La Unión del Pueblo Entero – LUPE will march in Austin alongside over 40 organizations from the Austin City Plaza to the South Steps Of The Texas Capitol. On March 9th, we will march on the week of the third year anniversary of Operation Lone Star, marking three years of unwarranted hate, racist, and fear mongering tactics placed against immigrant and mixed status families in Texas. We call for permanent protections for asylum-seekers and immigrants and an end to Gov. Abbott’s inhumane measures against all Texans— Black, Brown, White, Seniors, Youth, Citizens and Immigrants.

When: Saturday, March 9th, 2024 starting at 10:00 AM CDT – 1:00 CDT PM

Visuals:  La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE) will be in attendance with over 40 organizations in Austin. Residents throughout the state will be in attendance with flags and banners portraying various pro-immigrating messaging. Speeches will be made by organizations at the rendezvous point and at the end of the march. A peaceful rally will be held at the State Capitol, where hundreds will gather in resistance
