Release: LUPE to host first annual LGBTQ+ Pride events in San Juan

On Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, La Unión del Pueblo Entero will host for the first time two events to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month and promote inclusivity in the Rio Grande Valley.

What: La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE) will host two events to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month. On Friday, June 7, LUPE will host a Spanish presentation to discuss the meaning of Pride Month and the importance of inclusion. On Saturday, June 8, LUPE will host a community celebration with music, food, art, vendors, games, and performances by local artists and drag queens. 

When: Friday, June 7 from 6 PM – 8 PM and Saturday, June 8 from 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM

Where: 1601 US-83 BUS, San Juan, TX 78589 (LUPE San Juan headquarters)

Who: La Unión Del Pueblo Entero members along with various community organizations, vendors, and local artists 

Visuals/setting: On Friday, the presentation will be inside the historic Salon. On Saturday, activities and performances will be held both outdoors and inside the Salon. The event will feature more than 30 vendors and community organizations.
