Decades of divesting from schools, services, and care have given way to the worst public health crisis in a generation. Only 4% of Hidalgo County's general fund is dedicated to health services and care. We have no public hospital. Meanwhile, almost two-thirds of Hidalgo County’s general fund is dedicated to police, jails and courts.

The negligence of Texas leaders means that in the middle of a pandemic, Hidalgo County's biggest public health agency is its sheriff's department.

We are saying enough is enough! We can win a new approach to governance, one that puts power back in the hands of the people. We can win the power to decide how we live and thrive. ¡Sí Se Puede!
