What your support means for LUPE’s work in 2021

Dear friends,

As we approach the end of 2020, we are grateful for another year of organizing and building community with our members and you. We know how difficult and painful this year has been for all of us, so I want to personally thank you for sticking by LUPE and fighting alongside us in spite of all these challenges.

Will you renew your commitment to LUPE for 2021?

The threats we saw this year were many. The Trump administration’s recklessness and attacks against immigrants and low-income communities combined with this global health crisis meant the challenges our members face daily only got more intense.

Still, we pushed back against these attacks, proving once again that people organizing together makes us all stronger and safer. Here are a few ways we’ve done this:

  1. Created a $100,000 Dando La Mano fund that helped more than 400 families left out of Congressional COVID-19 aid
  2. Bridged the digital divide by helping 60 families set up internet access in their homes so that kids could go to class without worries
  3. Helped thousands of voters in the Rio Grande Valley cast their ballots safely
  4. Continued to fight against the anti-immigrant attempt to add a citizenship question to the census

All this and more is thanks to the support of all LUPE staff working together with our members and our supporters to improve the lives of immigrants and other low-income families.

In 2021, we will need your support to continue our work. Can you make a contribution before the year ends to let us know we can count on you?

We thank you for your support and we hope you continue to stand with us as we organize so that all families, children, and individuals are free to thrive and live without fear.

The LUPE family wishes you happiness and blessings this Holiday Season!

In community,

Juanita Valdez-Cox
Executive Director
