We’re almost halfway to our goal of $100,000 to aid farmworkers and others left out of COVID19 relief
Dear supporter,
We are overjoyed by the support we have received from the community for our Dando la Mano Immigrant Relief Fund. A month ago, LUPE kicked-off the fund with an initial donation of $8,000 by Justice For Women and Hispanics In Philanthropy. Thanks to their support and call to action, LUPE now has a successful COVID-19 Immigrant relief fund.
With your support, we’re almost halfway to our goal of $100,000 to aid farmworkers and others left out of COVID19 relief. In fact, we’ve already redistributed $42,200 to 187 immigrant families of the Rio Grande Valley, nearly all of the donations we’ve received so far.
We’re just getting started. Our team is working hard to approve applications and process relief funds as quickly as new donations come in.
But having dispersed nearly all of what we’ve raised, we need more donations to keep this going.
Here’s how you can support the relief fund:
- Donate now if you have not yet done so.
- Share your support of the Dando la Mano Fund on social media to encourage others to donate if they are able to. Here’s a Facebook post you can share.
It’s been quite a journey so far! Even though 1 in 10 undocumented Texans lives in the Rio Grande Valley, LUPE’s fund is the only relief fund for immigrant families in the RGV. We are so privileged to be in the position to help those whose heroic work ensures we can stay home.
Wishing you health,
Juanita Valdez-Cox
